Editorial Standards

We want Captioniy to feel different from random, copy-paste caption sites.

This page explains how we choose topics, how we write and review our content, and how we keep things as useful and responsible as we can.

1. Topic Selection

We choose topics using a mix of:

  • Real search interest (what people are actually looking for)
  • Social media trends (recurring themes, memes, aesthetics)
  • Direct reader requests
  • Seasonal and event-based needs (holidays, travel peaks, school years, etc.)

We prioritize topics when:

  • There’s clear demand
  • Existing resources are weak, shallow, or repetitive
  • We can genuinely add better structure, variety, or angles

2. Research

Before writing, our team:

  • Reviews publicly available search results and open web content
  • Observes how people write and talk in public posts, comments, and captions
  • Identifies:
    • common mood categories (funny, cute, deep, severe, etc.)
    • gaps where important angles are missing

We do not rely on blind scraping or auto-lifting entire lists. Instead, we use research as a map, not as a script.

3. Writing & Structure

Each article is then drafted by a human writer, who:

  • Organizes captions by theme, tone, or situation
  • Writes or rewrites lines to sound natural, clear, and flexible
  • Avoids big blocks of filler text and focuses on high-density examples

Where appropriate, we:

  • Add intros that set context and expectations
  • Include tips on how to adjust or personalize captions
  • Use headings and bullet points so you can skim quickly

4. Review & Editing

Before an article is published, an editor checks for:

  • Clarity & readability – simple, direct language with a natural flow
  • Redundancy – we cut weak or repetitive lines
  • Tone match – romantic posts feel romantic, museum posts feel thoughtful, spicy posts feel bold but not hateful
  • Responsible boundaries – especially for adult or sensitive themes

If something feels cheap, confusing, or off-brand, we fix it or remove it.

5. Updates & Maintenance

We don’t consider an article “done forever” once it is live.

We periodically:

  • Add new captions or remove weaker ones
  • Adjust sections when slang, platform norms, or cultural context shift
  • Merge overlapping topics into stronger, more complete guides
  • Improve internal links so related pages support each other instead of competing

If we ever substantially change the scope of a page, we try to keep the URL stable so existing visitors and search results still land in the right place.

6. Adult & Sensitive Content

Some of our content deals with adult themes, explicit innuendo, or power dynamics.

For these topics:

  • We write with the assumption of informed, consenting adults
  • We avoid glorifying harm, hate, or non-consensual scenarios
  • We focus on fantasy language for entertainment, not real-world instructions

We also encourage readers to follow:

  • Local laws and regulations
  • Platform rules (Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
  • Their own boundaries and comfort levels

If you believe a specific page or line crosses a line in a way that’s unsafe or inappropriate, please contact us. We review serious concerns and may edit or remove content when needed.

7. Independence, Ads & Monetization

Captioniy may use:

  • Display advertising
  • Affiliate links
  • Sponsored content (if, in the future, we accept it)

Our writers and editors are instructed to:

  • Put usefulness first
  • Clearly label sponsored content when we publish it
  • Decline partnerships that clash with the spirit of the site

Our editorial decisions are not for sale. We want readers to trust that our recommendations and organization are based on usefulness—not just on who pays.
